High altitude specialty coffee

The specialty coffeeSpecialty Coffee, also known as Specialty Coffee, refers to high quality coffee with beans of unique flavor and particular characteristics that preserve its identity. It is grown in small plots by small producers and is processed and sold unblended. Of course, it is of the arabica.

There are three minimum criteria for a coffee to be considered specialty coffee:

  1. Coffee must be harvested by hand.
  2. Obtains more than 80 points on the SCA rating scale.
  3. Must have less than 5 defects per 12 ounces.
